Energy from Biomass

In biomass plants, SOLVAir® Select sodium sorbents effectively help reduce multi-pollutants such as SO2, SO3 and HCl from acid gas emissions

Fuel used in biomass plants is sourced from a wide variety of raw materials including construction wood waste, wood pallets, bark, tree trimmings, paper and lumber mills waste, and agricultural crop waste.

Energy produced from biomass is an important renewable power source; however, it can generate flue gas emissions such as SO2, SO3, HCl and HF.

SOLVAir Select trona or sodium bicarbonate when used in Dry Sorbent Injection systems can effectively treat flue gas emissions in biomass plants.  The benefits of using SOLVAir Select products include low capital expense, small installation footprint, ease of operation and extreme flexibility in fuel changes, which is important when raw material sources are unpredictable.
